Certification Europe operates a policy of achieving formal accreditation
from a relevant authority before offering a service in a standard to the
market.
This means that we have been independently assessed to have the expertise
and competency to audit and certify to that standard.
Companies seeking to have a system certified to an international standard
should ensure that the assessment and certification is carried out by
a competent body. Ideally this means that the certification body providing
the service is accredited to do so and can provide evidence that it has
the expertise, skills, proven knowledge of the standard and itself operates
a quality service. A national accreditation body exists in most countries
to perform the task of approving, monitoring and auditing certification
services. The various national authorities liaise through an international
forum to ensure that international standards are adopted in uniform manner
and this enables international recognition.
If a certification service is not approved by an accredited
authority then the value of the certification may be questioned.
In Ireland, the relevant accreditation authority is
the National Accreditation Board of Ireland (NAB).
Certification Europe has achieved formal accreditation
from NAB in the following:
ISO 9001:1994 - Quality (Old version - operating till end 2003)
ISO 9000:2000 - Quality (Current revised version)
ISO 14001 - Environment
IS 17799 / BS 7799 - Information Security Management System
** OHSAS 18001 - Health & Safety is not available for accreditation
