Dry Cleaners
Overview
The Solvent Regulations (S.I. 543 of 2002) were passed into Irish law in 2002. The purpose of the Regulations is to protect human health & the environment. The Regulations state that any dry cleaning operation using solvent in their processes is subject to an annual AIC inspection by Certification Europe. The AIC inspection process ensures that the operator is operating under certain conditions that minimise solvent emissions.
What is an AIC inspection?
Certification Europe is responsible for conducting inspections in dry cleaning installations. The inspection involves checking a number of operating conditions to determine that they comply with the conditions of the Regulations.
