An online discussion board dedicated to issues
relating to information security (IS) within organizations and business
environments - a resource with substance which members will find helpful.
It is primarily a forum for those with responsibility
for implementing and managing information security systems – probably
in accordance with best practice in standards such as BS7799 / ISO17799
but not limited to that.
The format, like most online forums, is for members
to create their own topics and threads i.e. a member asks the advice
of other members by posting a question or comment and others members
respond with answers and suggestions
Over time the forum will build up a ‘knowledge
base’ and become a definitive reference point on information security
management issues
What it is not
Blatant or subtle promotion
of information security products or services is not permitted. This
does not mean that topics and discussions must completely avoid the
‘product’ element, as it is understood that some issues
may indeed be in respect of a product or service. The context of the
discussion or post will justify any product reference. Likewise, members
cannot use the forum to broadcast product attacks.
Off topic postings (non IS) or trivial discussions
are not permitted as this undermines the quality objective of the forum.

members for both viewing and posting.

How can I join?
To join the Forum complete brief details on
the Forum Registration page (proceed
if you agree with the general privacy statement). The moderator of the
Forum will assess each application submitted against criteria for membership
and grant (or deny) access. When your membership is approved you will
be advised by email.
Why is access restricted?
The reason for restricting access is to create an
environment where members can submit postings safe in the knowledge
that their input is only available to a specific group with a similar
interest. The quality of the membership will underpin the quality and
value of the content.
The Information Security Forum works best if it is
an active forum and members are encouraged to use it. All relevant topics,
questions and comments will be helpful to other users.
