INFORMATION SECURITY TRAINING
An overview of the ISO 27001 standard has just been published by ISO.
ISO 27000 provides an overview and vocabulary for the ISO 27000 series, but also it contains some useful information on the range of documents in the ISO 27000 series, information on why an Information Security Management System is important and some critical success factors in implementing an ISMS.

Risk Assessment Workshop
This one day workshop on Risk Assessment for ISO 27001 is a must for anyone considering the implementation of a 27001 system. The course has been developed around the recently published international guidance document ISO 27005 and provides delegates with a practical understanding of how to undertake a rigorous information security risk assessment. Different methodologies are explored and the tutors (who are all practicing ISMS auditors) highlight the essential dos & don’ts of conducting risk assessments drawing on years of experiencing auditing 27001 organisations.
The workshop incorporates the latest techniques published in ISO 27005 and therefore will be of value even to those organisation already holding 27001 certification as it will allow them to benchmark their methodology against latest trends. The workshop concludes with practical assessments using real life examples thus allowing delegates to walk out of the course and start applying their newly acquired knowledge in their own organisations.

Auditing ISO 27001 Information Security Management Systems
This 4-day course is designed for professionals within an organisation with responsibility for auditing an information security management system (ISMS) or best practice in security controls. The course would also benefit external consultants seeking to support the auditing activity of an ISMS within client organisations. The course will not only cover the accepted principles of auditing, but will give participants a detailed understanding of audit methodology, including audit preparation, managing an audit team, determining compliance with the standard, interview technique, following audit trails and documenting evidence.
Delegates will participate in workshops and case-studies to develop their auditing technique, and will learn how to handle some of the more challenging situations an auditor may face. The course has been designed in keeping with international standards on auditing technique, including ISO 19011. The course will also familiarise participants on the challenges of auditing ISO 27001 and will cover all
sections of the standard in detail, with tips on how to audit individual clauses, including risk assessments, business continuity and achieving continual improvement.

ISO 27001 Implementation

Certification Europe’s two-day course is custom designed for industry professionals with responsibility for implementing an information security management system (ISMS) within their organisations, or for external consultants seeking to support the implementation of an ISMS within client organisations.

It will not only introduce participants to the requirements of the standard, but will also detail the management system approach to implementing security controls compliant with the requirements of ISO 27002 and meeting the certification requirements of ISO 27001:2005.
