Arkivum achieves ISO 27001 certification
Arkivum a data archiving specialist based in Wiltshire in the United Kingdom received ISO 27001 certification for its entire operation.
ISO 27001 is the international best practice standard for an information security management system (ISMS). ISMS is a systematic approach to managing confidential or sensitive corporate information so that it remains secure (which means available, confidential and with its integrity intact). It encompasses people and processes as well as IT systems.
“Arkivum’s certification to ISO 27001 in just nine months demonstrates exceptional dedication to securing clients’ data and its commitment to providing a first class service,” commented Dr John Ryan, Commercial Director of Certification Europe. “Arkivum can now reassure all of its customers that it’s operating to the optimum levels for information security.”
Arkivum completed two intense audits during the certification process and received certification in just nine months (certification normally takes up to eighteen months to complete), which is a stellar achievement for the company. The standard was awarded to the company in recognition of their implementation of industry best practice throughout its operation. The company met over 138 controls, in conjunction with rolling out information, assets and employees policy and procedures updates.
“I am delighted that we have achieved ISO27001 certification from Certification Europe,” stated Jim Cook, CEO and founder of Arkivum. “This certification demonstrates to our customers that we take the security of their data extremely seriously. In the realm of data archiving, trust is the number one quality. Customers need to trust that their information is kept securely, that its confidentiality and integrity are maintained, while still being readily available whenever they need it. We have always ensured this at Arkivum; which is reflected in the ISO certification,” concluded Jim.
