An Taoiseach mentions Certification Europe’s contribution to the Irish EU Presidency Sustainability through ISO 20121 Certification
Certification Europe were delighted to be recently named in the Dáil as part of a response to a ministerial question by An Taoisech, Enda Kenny. Answering the question Mr Kenny detailed all of the strategic partnerships that have gone in to making Ireland’s Presidency of the European Union such a smooth and successful one, Mr. Kenny spoke about Certification Europe providing ISO certification to Dublin Castle for both ISO 20121 and ISO 14001.
ISO 20121 in the Dail
Despite ISO 20121 being one of the newest standards, it is growing in popularity as businesses and organisations realise they must take their activities into account and be responsible for their impact on the environment. ISO 20121 was first introduced to certify London Olympics and, along with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems certification, it made the 2012 Games the most sustainable and environmental friendly large event ever held.
Certification Europe are leading the way in helping ISO 20121 being adopted amongst businesses world wide. We are particularly proud of having certified Ireland’s EU Presidency headquarters in Dublin Castle to the two “Olympic standards”, ISO 20121 and ISO 14001, thus achieving the title of “Sponsor of the Irish EU Presidency”.
ISO 20121 Event Sustainability Management Systems allows businesses to assess their impact on the environment by using the ISO management systems staple “Plan, Do, Check, Act”. By making an organisation consider every aspect of their event, including supply chain, transportation, energy and utilities deployment and waste management, this enables businesses to truly hold and run successful events which have minimal impact on the environment.
