Certification Europe were up early this morning and making their way to the RDS for the 2013 Energy Show. One of Certification Europe’s ISO experts, Ciaran O’Malley was speaking about ISO certification to the ISO 50001 standard to a group from the Dublin Chamber of Commerce, eager to help reduce their impact on the environment and reduce their bottom line costs.
After arriving and registering for the conference we had a chance to network and share experiences about the ISO certification process with members of the legal, architectural and other professional services. It was very interesting to hear about the businesses who were considering undergoing the ISO certification process, particularly the different standards that businesses were interested in. One energy focused solicitor was interested in ISO 9000 and ISO 50001 where as a particularly environmentally aware architect had undergone ISO 14001 and was interested in ISO 50001.
Holding a workshop in the Minavra suite to such a diverse audience was a splendid way to kick of Wednesday.
Discussing the topic of ISO 50001 certification, its benefits and how to go about integrating it into your business Ciaran touched on topics such as planning and main energy consumers.
After this speaking engagement was finished it was time to take a walk around the Energy Show itself and meet many of our clients who happened to be exhibiting.
Dalkia recently achieved ISO 50001 certification but they were not resting on their achievement. Their stand was very busy as they looked to help more clients achieve the massive energy savings they have achieved at their 12 sites nationwide.
Gyproc Saint-Gobain were also looking to help prospective customers in the building trade achieve the energy improvements with their own range of energy sound and sustainable building products.
Our “ISO 50001 Ireland” event partners “Environment & Energy magazine” were located in stall A6, Ronan Glade and his staff cover off all things relating to sustainable, environmentally aware business so it made sense for him to where the energy action was.
Finally we had the chance to present our client Bord Na Mona with their ISO certification for ISO 50001. It was fitting that we should get this chance to present the largest exporter in Ireland at the premium energy event in Ireland.
Enda McDonagh and his staff were delighted to accepted the certificate on behalf of the business. We would like to extend to them a hearty “Congratulations!”
