Certification Europe is delighted to announce we’re now an approved certification body for the SEAI to certify organisations to the EXEED (Excellence in Energy Efficient Design) Certified Program which launched this summer.
Certification Europe has been at the forefront of Energy Management Certification over the last decade and we are delighted to offer our unrivalled skills and experience in Energy Management Certification and provide EXEED certification along with our suite of other Energy and Environmental services which include ISO 50001:2011 (Energy Management) and ISO 14001: 2015 (Environmental) Certification.
What is EXEED?
EXEED provides a new framework for energy efficient design management for both new investments and upgrades to existing assets. EXEED will independently certify assets using this framework that optimises energy performance and energy management capability. An organisation that implements EXEED puts energy performance on the design agenda, this allows the opportunity to commence or even integrate the energy management discipline at the earliest stage of design.
EXEED is defined by three certified distinctions. These certified distinctions provide levels of certainty and assurance of sustained energy savings.
What Industry sectors can apply for EXEED?
EXEED can be applied to any sector, any organisation and any project. EXEED is designed to suit your requirements and can adapt to suit the scope your organisation sets out. EXEED can be applied to any industrial site, new modified or renovated sites, buildings, equipment, systems and processes. Projects can be of any scale or complexity.
Such projects can include:
- Greenfield design
- Brownfield design
- Energy Upgrades to existing assets
- Major renovation of existing assets
EXEED Certification Journey
This certifies that the asset as designed, constructed, and handed over to the owner/operator. To achieve EXEED Designed the certification is primarily based on the requirements of I.S.399:2014 Clause 8- Operation. This certificate has a life cycle of 5 years unless you move up to the next distinction.
This certifies an asset against measured and verified energy performance with avoided energy consumption quantified. To achieve EXEED Verified you must follow the requirements of the Energy Measurement and verification guidance, ISO 50015:2014. This certificate has a 3-year lifespan but can be re-certified or you can progress to EXEED Managed.
This is the highest level and certifies that the asset is at full operational conditions. It combines the requirements of energy management and the continual improvement of energy performance. The additional requirement for EXEED Managed is to be certified to ISO 50001 and will remain valid provided certification is maintained.
