ISO 50001:2018 Transport Energy Champion Training

Aligning with the framework of the European Energy Efficiency Directive 2012 (Article 8), our one-day Transport Energy Champion Training Course helps organisations identify opportunities to save energy and emissions in transport across their business. Often, organisations with who have a fleet identify this as the largest energy user within the organisation. This course is designed to review energy consumption across the vehicles within the organisation in line with ISO 50001:2018.

Who should attend?

  • Energy Team members with a background in transport or energy who need to integrate transport into ISO50001, sustainability programs, or do manage transport internally or externally.
  • Those with responsibility for ISO 50001/14001, CSR implementation, or a need to comply with the Energy Efficiency directive 2012 (ESOS).

Course Content

Our in-depth training course content is packed into a one-day itinerary, which includes:

  • How to prepare and conduct effective energy audits in transport.
  • Changes in requirements for top management – Leadership.
  • Supporting tools to identify and quantify opportunities for energy savings Changes in technical requirement – energy review.
  • Prioritise them into energy action plans, monitor, report and verify results.
  • Changes in requirements for the competence.
  • Eco-driving is covered and the ECOfleet platform is demonstrated.
  • Tools to quantify fuel and CO2 savings in car & van fleets are provided.
  • Participants will be able to manage fuel and vehicle performance.

Conor Molloy

Conor Molloy is an independent energy advisor and trainer with an MSc in Energy Management and Renewable Energy from the University of Ulster, he is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) and trainer for ISO50001.
With over 10 years experiences as a trainer, he has trained multiple companies energy teams and over 100 ESOS Lead Assessors in Transport Energy Auditing. 2011-2014 he led the publication of EN 16247-4 Europe’s transport energy audit standard and contributed to ISO50004. Since 2005, Conor has been helping business save fuel and manage their energy usage for profit and reduced emissions. Accepted as a member of the Association of Energy Engineers, CILT, FTAI, IMCA and EVO. He is a registered lead ESOS assessor (UK) and registered energy auditor (Ireland). In 2018 Conor was invited to join the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) expert panel based on his work as the designer and implementer of the EEOS funded ECOfleet programme.
