ABOUT THE ROLE

Certification Europe is recruiting an Environmental Consultant, within the Inspections & Compliance division.
The role holder will lead the delivery of a range of diverse environmental projects to our existing and future clients. This is an exciting career opportunity to be part of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering positive environmental and social outcomes.
To apply for this role, you must demonstrate a high-level technical expertise, together with a proven track record in the delivery of projects in the environmental and waste sector.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Environmental Consultant will be instrumental in the successful delivery of client services to:
- Actively participate in the delivery of a range of client projects.
- Conduct compliance and inspection activities on behalf of public sector clients across a range of environmental regulations and legislation related to waste, water and energy use.
- Review and interpret technical literature such as legislation, guidance & policy documents and research papers.
- Produce project outputs (e.g., technical progress reports, specifications) meeting all client and legislative requirements.
- Support key clients with technical input, advice and training on a wide range of environmental areas.
- Stakeholder engagement to agree and follow up on corrective action.
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders;
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, environmental incident investigation reports and case files management.
- Support on delivery of other, mutli-annual contracts as required.
- Maintain an excellent understanding of relevant environmental legislation.
- Client engagement throughout the lifecycle of projects, providing timely and relevant progress updates as appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment, in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities and deadline pressures.
EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE
- 3+ years senior experience within the environmental and waste sector.
- A minimum of NFQ level 8 in a relevant environmental discipline.
- Project management experience, including overseeing remediation works on unauthorised waste sites, historic landfills and staff resource management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment, in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities and deadline pressures.
- Ability to gather and analyse facts, draw conclusions, define problems and suggest solutions.
- Experience in managing client relationships, understanding their challenges and ambitions and delivering on growth opportunities.
